Description:
Pay: $17.00 - $18.70 per hour
Tender Care Medical Services is seeking safe, reliable, and compassionate Drivers to transport medically fragile children to and from our Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) centers. Drivers play a critical role in ensuring children arrive safely, comfortably, and on time while maintaining compliance with all safety, licensing, and transportation regulations.
Full-Time: 30–40 hours per week
Part-Time: 10–29 hours per week
Split shifts with AM and PM routes
Transport Coordinator
Safely operate company vans in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies
Assist with loading and unloading children, wheelchairs, and supplies
Secure wheelchairs and ensure all safety restraints are properly fastened
Complete required route documentation accurately and timely
Ensure vehicles are clear of passengers and belongings after each route
Perform pre- and post-route vehicle inspections
Clean, sweep, sanitize, and disinfect vans as required
Fuel vehicles and assist with basic vehicle upkeep
Wash company vehicles as assigned
Perform assigned duties between routes as needed
Maintain confidentiality and model positive behavior with patients
Follow infection control, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety standards
Complete all tasks assigned by the Transport Coordinator or administration
Work performed indoors, outdoors, and in company vehicles
Split shift schedules with morning and afternoon routes
May require heavy lifting and extended driving periods
Ability to drive company vans on roadways and highways for up to 5 hours
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs independently and participate in team lifts of 40+ lbs
Ability to push and pull wheelchairs
Repetitive standing, walking, bending, and use of hands and legs
Ability to change a tire if needed
High school diploma or GED
Valid Florida Driver’s License with no points or suspensions (Must hold FL DL for minimum 2 years)
Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
Ability to pass a Level 2 background screening (https://info.flclearinghouse.com)
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
Ability to comply with Drug-Free Workplace policies
One year of commercial or professional driving experience
Experience transporting children or individuals with special needs
DOT physical
Defensive driving certification
Completion of monthly safety trainings
Compliance with AHCA, Medicaid, State of Florida, and TCMS transportation requirements
Strong attention to safety and detail
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Professional, patient, and dependable demeanor
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
Team-oriented and respectful communication style
